Publishing Model

The SAPS follows a continuous publication model, designed to ensure rapid and efficient dissemination of high-quality research in the field of pharmaceutical sciences.

Continuous Publication
Unlike traditional issue-based publishing, where articles are released in batches at fixed intervals (e.g., quarterly or biannually), SAPS adopts a rolling publication schedule. This means that as soon as an article is accepted, peer-reviewed, copyedited, typeset, and assigned a DOI, it is immediately published online. Each article becomes instantly accessible to readers worldwide, without waiting for a scheduled issue release. This approach accelerates scientific communication and allows timely citation and indexing.

Benefits of Continuous Publishing
• Faster visibility: Authors no longer need to wait for a complete issue to be compiled.
• Improved accessibility: Each article is published with its own DOI, volume, and issue information.
• Real-time publication tracking: Articles are published in the order they’re finalized, providing a transparent workflow.
• Supports open access principles: Enhances dissemination, discoverability, and reuse under the journal’s CC BY 4.0 license.

Article Collection into Issues
Although SAPS publishes continuously, articles are also grouped into issues retrospectively for archiving, indexing, and citation purposes. For example: Volume 1, Issue 1 (January–March 2025) may include all articles published within that timeframe, regardless of their individual publication dates.
