Author Guidelines

All submitted manuscripts must adhere to the structure and standards outlined below. Submissions that do not comply may be returned for revision prior to peer review.

Cover Letter

A cover letter is mandatory and must be submitted along with the manuscript.

The cover letter should:

  • Clearly state the manuscript title and article type
  • Briefly describe the objective, novelty, and significance of the study
  • Confirm that the manuscript is original and not under consideration elsewhere
  • Confirm that all authors have approved the submission
  • Include statements on ethical approval, conflicts of interest, and funding (if applicable)
  • Suggest potential reviewers (optional but recommended)

Article Types

JJTHS accepts multiple article categories, including original research, reviews, short communications, case reports, and perspectives. All submissions must align with the journal’s scope in translational and interdisciplinary health sciences.

Title Page

The title page must include:

  • Concise and informative title (sentence case)
  • Full names of all authors (without titles)
  • Institutional affiliations (department, institution, city, country)
  • Corresponding author details (email and full contact information)

Abstract and Keywords

The abstract should clearly summarize the study objectives, methodology, key findings, and conclusions.

  • Structured abstracts are recommended for original research
  • Keywords should be relevant and placed immediately after the abstract

Manuscript Structure

For original research, the recommended structure is:

  • Introduction
  • Materials and Methods
  • Results
  • Discussion
  • Conclusion

Additional sections should include:

  • Author Contributions
  • Acknowledgments (if applicable)
  • Conflict of Interest
  • Funding Disclosure
  • Data Availability Statement

Review articles and other formats may follow flexible structures but should maintain logical organization and clarity.

Ethical Compliance

All manuscripts must comply with internationally accepted ethical standards:

  • Ethical approval must be obtained for studies involving humans or animals
  • Informed consent must be clearly stated where applicable
  • Clinical trials must be registered in a recognized registry
  • Confidentiality and data protection must be maintained

Failure to comply may result in rejection or further action in accordance with ethical guidelines.

Figures and Tables

  • Figures and tables must be clearly labeled and cited in the text
  • High-resolution files must be provided separately
  • Legends and captions should be descriptive and self-explanatory
  • Data should not be unnecessarily duplicated

References

  • References must be accurate, relevant, and consistently formatted
  • JJTHS follows a standard biomedical citation style (Vancouver format)
  • In-text citations should be numbered in order of appearance

Use of reference management software is strongly encouraged to ensure accuracy.

Reporting Standards

Authors are encouraged to follow appropriate reporting guidelines (e.g., CONSORT, PRISMA, STROBE) based on study design.

Data Availability and Transparency

Authors must include a Data Availability Statement describing access to underlying data.

Use of Artificial Intelligence

Authors must disclose any use of AI tools in manuscript preparation and remain fully responsible for the content.

Authors should ensure all submission requirements are met prior to submission.

Language Requirements

All manuscripts must be written in clear, concise, and grammatically accurate English. Either British or American English may be used, provided consistency is maintained throughout.

Authors are encouraged to review manuscripts carefully prior to submission. Submissions that do not meet acceptable language standards may be returned for revision.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Submission Checklist.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Where applicable, permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets, and other material provided with this submission.
