Authorship Criteria

The Jazer Journal of Translational Health Science (JJTHS) follows the authorship guidelines established by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) to ensure integrity, accountability, and transparency in scholarly publishing. Authorship reflects substantial intellectual contribution and shared responsibility for the published work. Only individuals who meet all four criteria outlined below should be listed as authors.

ICMJE-Based Authorship Criteria

To qualify for authorship, an individual must meet all of the following conditions:

  1. Significant contribution to the conception or design of the work; or the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data
  2. Participation in drafting the manuscript or revising it critically for important intellectual content
  3. Final approval of the version to be published
  4. Agreement to be accountable for all aspects of the work, ensuring that questions related to accuracy or integrity are appropriately investigated and resolved

Contributors Who Do Not Qualify for Authorship

Individuals who do not meet all authorship criteria but have contributed to the work should be acknowledged appropriately. Examples include:

  • Technical or statistical assistance
  • General supervision or administrative support
  • Funding acquisition
  • Language editing or formatting support
  • Data collection without significant intellectual contribution

Changes to Authorship

Requests to add, remove, or reorder authors after submission must be submitted by the corresponding author and must include:

  • A clear justification for the requested change
  • Written confirmation from all listed authors, including those being added or removed

Changes to authorship after acceptance will only be considered in exceptional circumstances and require approval by the Editor-in-Chief.
