Use of Artificial Intelligence
Artificial Intelligence (AI) Use Policy
The Jazer Journal of Translational Health Science (JJTHS) recognizes the growing use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools in research and manuscript preparation. The journal supports the responsible and transparent use of such tools while maintaining the principles of academic integrity, authorship accountability, and scientific rigor.
Permitted use of AI tools
Authors may use AI-based tools to assist with non-substantive tasks, provided such use is appropriately disclosed. Acceptable uses include:
- Language editing, grammar correction, and readability improvement
- Formatting of references, citations, and manuscript structure
- Preliminary summarization or organizational assistance for drafting purposes
- Preparation of figures or basic data visualization, where applicable
AI tools should be used only as supportive instruments. All intellectual input, interpretation, and final content must remain the responsibility of the authors. AI systems must not be listed as authors or contributors.
Use of AI in content development
AI tools may assist in drafting or refining text; however, authors must ensure that all content is:
- Scientifically accurate and critically evaluated
- Original and free from plagiarism or fabricated information
- Fully reviewed and verified by the authors prior to submission
The use of AI to generate data, fabricate results, manipulate findings, or misrepresent research is strictly prohibited and constitutes scientific misconduct.
Disclosure of AI use
Authors must disclose any use of AI tools in the preparation of their manuscript. A statement should be included at the end of the manuscript (before the References), specifying the nature and extent of AI assistance.
Example (if AI tools were used):
Portions of this manuscript were prepared with the assistance of [name of AI tool], used for [e.g., language editing or formatting]. The authors have reviewed and verified all content and accept full responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of the work.
If no AI tools were used:
The authors declare that no AI tools were used in the preparation of this manuscript.
Readership and Authorship
Authors remain fully responsible for all aspects of their manuscript, including the accuracy of text, data, figures, and conclusions, regardless of any AI assistance. AI tools do not meet authorship criteria and must not be listed as authors or contributors.
Data protection and confidentiality
Authors should avoid inputting sensitive, confidential, or unpublished data—including identifiable patient information—into publicly accessible AI tools, as this may compromise data privacy and intellectual property.
Policy enforcement
Violations of this policy may result in editorial action, including manuscript rejection, correction, or retraction, in accordance with established ethical guidelines and best practices in scholarly publishing.
